Judo training plans, built for your goal
Judo rewards explosive hip power and grip fighting as much as technique — a judoka who can't win the kumi-kata rarely gets to throw. SportBlox builds your judo training plan around your grade, competition calendar and the specific throws or groundwork you're developing.
Who it's for
First competition season
Randori volume and entry drilling building toward a first shiai.
Adding a new tokui-waza
Uchikomi and drilling focused on developing a new signature throw.
Groundwork (ne-waza) improvement
Transition and pinning drills for judoka who want a stronger newaza game.
A week of judo training
Example: a judoka building a seoi-nage entry six weeks from a shiai. Your own plan is built around your event, level and schedule.
How SportBlox personalises it
Your goal & event date
Sessions build toward the specific goal and date you set, with a taper if you're racing or competing.
Your skill level
Volume and intensity scale to where you actually are, from Inexperienced to Professional.
Your stated weaknesses
Tell SportBlox about things like grip fighting (kumi-kata), finishing throws under resistance, newaza transitions and the plan weights sessions toward fixing them.
Your schedule
The plan fits the days and time you say you have — not an idealised training week.
Judo training plan FAQ
Do I need a dojo and training partners?
Randori and uchikomi sessions assume partner access; strength and conditioning work can be done solo.
Is this suitable for someone new to judo?
Yes, set skill level to Inexperienced and the plan prioritises fundamentals and ukemi (breakfalls) before adding randori intensity.
Can it build toward a specific shiai (competition) date?
Yes, add the competition as an event and the plan periodises with a taper leading into it.
Does it help with weight-category management?
The plan favours conditioning approaches that support safe weight management, but flag your weight category as a challenge — always involve a coach for cutting decisions.
Will it fit around my club's training nights?
Tell SportBlox your existing club sessions and supplementary strength and conditioning work is scheduled around them.
