SPEARFISHING

Spearfishing training plans, built for your goal

Spearfishing performance comes down to calm breath-hold time and efficient descents long before it comes down to shooting accuracy — a diver who burns oxygen fighting the water gets less bottom time and makes worse decisions under it. SportBlox builds your spearfishing training plan around your goal, current level and whether breath-hold time, equalisation or finning efficiency is the real gap.

Who it's for

Who it's for

Competing in a spearfishing tournament

Breath-hold and dive-efficiency training aimed at more productive bottom time under competition pressure.

Building breath-hold and dive depth safely

CO2/O2 tolerance tables and equalisation drills for divers progressing toward deeper, longer dives.

Recreational diver wanting more bottom time

General breath-hold and finning conditioning for divers who want longer, calmer dives without chasing depth records.

Personalisation

How SportBlox personalises it

Your goal & event date

Sessions build toward the specific goal and date you set, with a taper if you're racing or competing.

Your skill level

Volume and intensity scale to where you actually are, from Inexperienced to Professional.

Your stated weaknesses

Tell SportBlox about things like breath-hold and urge-to-breathe management, equalisation at depth, finning efficiency and the plan weights sessions toward fixing them.

Your schedule

The plan fits the days and time you say you have — not an idealised training week.

FAQ

Spearfishing training plan FAQ

How many sessions per week does a spearfishing plan include?

Usually 4-5, split between dry breath-hold tables, finning technique and mobility work, plus water sessions when you have access.

Is this safe and suitable for a beginner?

Yes — set skill level to Inexperienced and the plan starts with education, technique and conservative table volumes; spearfishing should still always be practised with a trained buddy, never alone.

Do I need pool access?

It helps for static and dynamic work, but dry CO2 tables, mobility and strength work can all be done at home if pool access is limited.

Will it fit around my dive trips and tournament calendar?

Yes, add your trips and tournaments as events and the plan tapers volume and prioritises rest in the days before.

Does it also cover shooting technique, or just breath-hold?

The plan focuses on the physical and breath-hold side of your dive — gun handling and hunting craft sit alongside it, but sessions target the fitness that gives you more calm, productive time in the water.
