Swimming training plans, built for your goal
Swimming rewards technical efficiency as much as fitness — two swimmers with identical conditioning can have very different times because of stroke technique alone. SportBlox builds your swimming training plan around your goal, current level and whether you're training for the pool or open water, and works with your Strava data.
Who it's for
First open water event
Sighting, drafting and open water confidence layered onto pool-based fitness.
Improving club times
Structured interval sets and technique work aimed at a specific 100m or 200m goal.
Adult learn-to-swim fitness
Technique-first sessions for adults building comfort and efficiency in the water.
A week of swimming training
Example: a 200m freestyler in a mid-season quality block. Your own plan is built around your event, level and schedule.
How SportBlox personalises it
Your goal & event date
Sessions build toward the specific goal and date you set, with a taper if you're racing or competing.
Your skill level
Volume and intensity scale to where you actually are, from Inexperienced to Professional.
Your stated weaknesses
Tell SportBlox about things like “bilateral breathing”, “open water sighting and navigation”, “turn and finish technique” and the plan weights sessions toward fixing them.
Your schedule
The plan fits the days and time you say you have — not an idealised training week.
Works with Strava
Connect Strava and your logged sessions feed back into pacing and progression.
Coaching a swimming team?
SportBlox builds your team's training plan around the squad as a whole — its goals, weaknesses and upcoming events — and you review and refine every session before your athletes see it.
For coachesSwimming training plan FAQ
Does this work with Strava?
Yes — connect Strava and your logged swims feed back into pacing and progression.
Do I need pool access?
Most sessions assume pool access for interval and technique work; flag open-water-only access and the plan adapts accordingly.
Is this suitable for adult beginners learning to swim?
Yes, set skill level to Inexperienced and sessions prioritise technique and comfort over pace.
Will it fit around my squad training?
Tell it your existing squad sessions and supplementary work is scheduled around them, not on top of them.
Does it prepare me for open water specifically?
Yes — if your goal involves open water, sessions add sighting drills and simulate the pacing demands of racing without lane lines.
