TAPLIN RELAY

Taplin Relay training plans, built for your goal

Taplin Relay is surf lifesaving's classic medley — a team covering swim, board and ski legs, so training has to build real competency across disciplines, not just your favourite one. SportBlox builds your Taplin relay training plan around your assigned leg, your team's carnival calendar and where you personally need the most work.

Personalisation

How SportBlox personalises it

Your goal & event date

Sessions build toward the specific goal and date you set, with a taper if you're racing or competing.

Your skill level

Volume and intensity scale to where you actually are, from Inexperienced to Professional.

Your stated weaknesses

Tell SportBlox about things like losing time on the changeover into your leg, fitness gaps in a discipline you train less often, pacing your leg to match your teammates' and the plan weights sessions toward fixing them.

Your schedule

The plan fits the days and time you say you have — not an idealised training week.

FAQ

Taplin Relay training plan FAQ

Which leg does the plan train — swim, board or ski?

Tell SportBlox your assigned leg and the plan weights conditioning and technique toward it, while still including cross-training in the other two.

Do I need a full team to train Taplin-specific sessions?

Changeover and medley-simulation sessions benefit from teammates, but SportBlox marks these separately from the solo work that makes up most of the week.

How many sessions per week?

Typically 4–5, covering your leg's discipline plus strength, changeovers and a rest day.

Is this suitable if I'm new to one of the three disciplines?

Yes, skill level scales volume and technical complexity for the discipline you're least experienced in.

Will it build toward our carnival date?

Add the carnival as an event and the plan tapers in the final week before racing.
